If there is no academy in your area, it’s easy to start one
STEP 1 – Find a suitable venue
Venues should be free to use, suitable for children’s activity, with enough boards to use. (one board per 2-4 children)
Children need consistency so you and the venue need to be able to commit for the day / time you choose
Having someone to help you on your academy adventure is always a good idea.
STEP 2 – Background Check for Coach
Safety is paramount. All JDC coaches must undergo a background check.
The National Darts Federation of Canada has an established process for this, at a cost of $25 per person.
STEP 3 – JDC Accredidation Course
This course is delivered online and will provide you with the knowledge and tools you need to run your academy sessions.
If you have previously attended an online information session, you will already be familiar with the core concepts. The Accreditation Course is designed to ensure you are equipped with all the details you need and some practical examples.
This course is between 60-90 minutes.
STEP 4 – Students Register at JDCCanada.ca
Parents register their children online by purchasing a subscription to JDC Canada.

STEP 6 – Equipment Support
JDC Canada is exploring various sponsorship offers.
As an Academy Coach, you will have access to special discounts from Maximum Darts in their online shop at https://maximumdarts.com
If you require equipment for your academy, please contact us and we will help in any way we can.
STEP 5 – Up & Running
JDC Canada will do their best to support you through the first weeks. We are available to assist you with knowledge and advice.
As a Coach, your main obligation is to have each registered student perform one set of the JDC Challenge, with scores being officially recorded by an adult, using the JDC Challenge app.
You are free to conduct training, practice, competition of any format at your discretion. It is common to have students practice the JDC challenge before the actual official scoring session.
